Chemtex is active in supporting clients in developing acetic anhydride projects using acetic acid as feedstock, via ketene cracking. We offer very compact design with proprietary ketene cracking and ketene stabilization steps, with plant sizes ranging from 30,000 tons per year up to 200,000 tons per year, suitable to produce both “acetylation grade” and “pharmaceutical grade” acetic anhydride.

Our process with unique operating conditions and feedstock composition permit the cracking furnace to operate for more than 2 years without cleaning operation.
