Chemtex is a leading provider of ethanol plants, for both the beverage and the fuel markets.  References include a 150,000 tons per year ethanol plant in China in 2007 and multiple US based ethanol projects.

Chemtex is actively involved in the Bioethanol industry offering packages including know how, basic and detail engineering, equipment and field services for start up and commissioning.  Chemtex typically partners with a state of the art technology supplier to provide the know how for the process depending the type of feedstock.

To further improve the economics associated with these plants, Chemtex also specializes in dryer waste heat integration.  The waste heat from the dryer is integrated back to the process to eliminate the VOC emissions and eliminate the need for Regenerative Thermal Oxidation (RTO).

In addition, the Chemtex biofuel dedicated Italian R&D Center is developing a proprietary process to produce bioethanol from lignocellulosic feedstock (i.e. corn stover, straw, husk, woody biomass) so to improve bioethanol cost competitiveness as well as product LCA (Life Cycle Analysis).
