OHP® is based on a optimized Fenton reaction to eliminate recalcitrant organic matter and increasing biodegradability of the wastewater under mild conditions of temperature and pressure (when compared with other advanced oxidation processes) allowing to cover the gap between currently existing technologies to treat wastewaters with non-biodegradable organics.
OHP® can be used for:

• Reduction of COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand);
• Reduction of TOC (Total Organic Carbon);
• Color elimination; and,
• Increasing the biodegradability of the effluent and removing specific organic and toxic compounds.

It can be provided as a stand-alone unit or as a pre-treatment stage in biological systems.   

The technology is versatile. Effluents with a wide range of recalcitrant organic products can be easily treated making the technology attractive for effluents from fine chemical processes, pharmaceutical plants, landfills (leachate treatment), production of pigments, plastics, rubber and similar industries. OHP® technology achieves an organic load elimination yield of up to 99% and, when used as a pre-treatment stage of a biological process, it is also designed to convert COD into BOD
