Maleic Anhydride

Chemtex supports clients in developing maleic anhydride projects using normal butane as a feedstock, based on maleic anhydride technology from INEOS and Petron Scientech.  We offer fixed bed reactor processes from 10,000 to 35,000 ton per year as well as continuous fluidized bed reactor processes from 80.000 to 110,000 tons per year.

The relationship with INEOS Technologies and with Petron Scientech provides to Chemtex over 30 years of successful research and development, plant operating experience and commercial solutions as well as INEOS Technologies proprietary high performing catalysts for use in both fixed bed and fluid bed maleic anhydride processes.

The expertise of our maleic anhydride technology partners includes the start-up of the world’s first butane-to-maleic anhydride fixed-bed reactor and start-up of the world’s largest fluid-bed butane to maleic anhydride reactor.  Technology improvements include both process and catalyst refinements, where each refinement increases product yield and offers improved production economies.
