At 2:30pm on November 30, 2008, the 200,000 ton per year liquid natural gas (LNG) plant that is owned by Xingxing Energy Co. Ltd. and established by Chemtex International Inc. started up smoothly on schedule in Erdos, Inner Mongolia, China. The plant has reached design rate and kept running stably with full capacity since December 10, 2008.
"It had been our dream to build a world class LNG production facility in China before we finally shook hands with Chemtex and B&V" said Lexian Wu, Vice Chairman & CEO of Xingxing Energy Co. Ltd. gToday we break the record of the industry with reaching design capacity only ten days after a wonderful quick and smooth start-up. Thanks for hard work of all parties; this is the most successful LNG plant ever in China. It will be a milestone in China natural gas industry. Whenever you select Chemtex, you select to be successful."
Chemtex International Inc. has provided Xingxing Energy with entire technical services including project management, basic engineering design, major procurement, detail design, construction, commissioning and start-up for both the Liquefaction plant and the 10,000 M3 LNG storage tank. The project is the first LNG plant in China based on Black & Veatch Corporationfs PRICO® Single Cycle Mixed Refrigerant Technology. For countries such as China, where little or no infrastructure exists in many remote areas, the LNG process is changing lives, according to Brian Price, Black & Veatch Vice President of LNG Technologies. By helping build an energy infrastructure, we are providing a dramatic enhancement in their quality of life. Bob Wojnarowski, Black & Veatch Regional General Manager, stated, "the Xingxing project and others like it that we're currently doing with Chemtex demonstrates the viability for providing energy assurance in remote areas around the globe."
Black & Veatch Corporation and Chemtex have established a strong partnership in China for supplying complete LNG project solutions to this new industry, with several new plants expected to go into production over the next year. gWe are very happy for the successful startup of Xingxing and expect to have the same success for the remaining five LNG projects being built by us in China.h said Wim van der Zande, President & CEO of Chemtex. gChemtex and Black & Veatch are proud to contribute to building the infrastructure in China to help bring clean burning fuel to various communities. We hope to establish even closer ties with more Chinese companies to provide them with world class LNG plants.h |
