Chemtex Awarded Ethanol to Bio-Ethylene, EO/Glycols Project in China

IHeyang Ethanol and Bio-Glycols Co., Ltd. has entered into an agreement with Chemtex International Inc. for a Bio-Glycols project in Mengzhou City, Henan, China to produce 87.5 ktpa ethylene oxide equivalent (EOE) including 80 ktpa fiber grade mono-ethylene glycol (85ktpa).  The facility will utilize bio-ethanol as a feedstock and will employ Bio-Ethylene technology from Petron Scientech, USA and EO/MEG technology from Shell Global Solutions and Petron Scientech, USA.  Chemtex will provide project management, engineering, technical field services and imported equipment for this project.

Bio-fuels and related “green” downstream technology is an important business area within Chemtex.
