Chemtex Signature Projects
The stories of our success
LNG liquefaction projects
Based on Black & Veatch technology, Chemtex is implementing several LNG liquefaction and gas treatment projects in China to help our clients use stranded gas fields in remote areas. These projects will provide alternative energy sources and will help to develop areas not served by pipelines with increasing energy demand.
Polyester
In the past 3 years Chemtex has installed more than 4 million tons of capacity worldwide. Putting our focus on increasing capacity and maximizing economies of scale for highly competitive PET resin projects, Chemtex started a trend of building the world's largest single lines in the western markets. Before delivering the Altamira Project in Mexico (2004) with a single line capacity of 350,000 tons per year and than in Brazil with the Suape plant (2007), that with 525,000 tons per year is the largest single line PET plant ever built.
In China with 18 polyester projects in the last 5 years and in India with a long history of cooperation with Reliance and other major producers, Chemtex, supplying state of the art technology, helped customers of these emerging markets to succeed in becoming true global competitive key players.
Acrylic fibers
Since the nineties Chemtex has implemented seven major acrylic fiber projects in China and two in India to provide high grade acrylic fiber to the industry of these emerging markets. The most recent example is the 50,000 tons per year Hangzhou Bay project, operating at full design capacity while meeting all enviromental standards.
SRU
Chemtex provided engineering for the first Sulfur recovery project in India for Reliance Industries and later for several others projects, helping clients to meet the latest environmental regulations and reducing the environmental impact of industrial operations.
