First Generation Bio-Ethanol

Chemtex is actively involved in the bio-ethanol industry providing project solutions for both beverage and fuel grade product. We offer our own technology for traditional first generation feedstocks such as corn, wheat, grain sorghum, etc. and, with our PROESA™ ligno-cellulosic technology, we are uniquely qualified to design and incorporate provisions which would allow first generation users to make a smooth transition to second generation feedstocks readily.

Chemtex is proud to have an exclusive position with COFCO, China’s leading oil and food importer and exporter, to offer a cassava-based bio-ethanol platform to international clients. COFCO operates the largest cassava fuel ethanol production facility in Beihai, China with an annual output of two hundred thousand tons.  The facility operates continuously on both fresh and dry cassava feedstocks handling the many challenges of the high silica in the feedstocks. The process is highly integrated turning the cassava waste stream into an energy source for both the dryer and power plant.
